Frequently asked questions about heating & heat pumps

Why are some rooms cold even though the boiler's running full blast?

Almost always poor balancing — hot water overheats the nearest radiators and leaves the rest lukewarm. A room-by-room adjustment fixes it, for a fraction of a new heat pump.

Is a heat pump worth it for a house in the London area?

Usually yes on direct electric or oil, especially with the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant — payback in five to eight years. With efficient gas heating already, the maths is weaker, and we'll say so.

Are you Gas Safe registered?

Yes — every engineer on gas work is Gas Safe registered. Heat pump and electrical work is MCS-certified and NICEIC-registered.

How often does a heat pump need servicing?

Once a year — filters, flow, pressure, and a controls check. Skipping it costs efficiency, and most warranties require the service history.
